LagosXchange is a rates information site. It has no accounts, no forms, no payments and no mailing list.
What we collect
Nothing directly. The amounts you type into a converter are worked out in your browser and are never sent to us. The only thing we measure is how the site is used, through Google Analytics, and only if you say yes.
Analytics, only if you accept
When you first visit, we ask whether we can use Google Analytics. Choose Reject, or don't choose, and it doesn't load and no analytics cookies are set. Choose Accept, and it helps us see how many people visit, which pages they read and which converters they use (we record the currency pair, for example “USD-NGN”, never the amount). We rely on your consent for this, and you can take it back at any time.
Google Analytics records things like the pages you view, how long you stay, the site that sent you, your browser, device type and screen size, and your rough location (country or city, worked out from your IP address). It doesn't tell us who you are, and we don't use it to identify you. Google runs the service and processes this information for us, and may do so outside Nigeria. You can read how in Google's privacy policy.
Cookies
The cookies Google Analytics sets if you accept, and how long they last, are listed on our cookies page.
Changing your choice
Use Cookie settings at the bottom of any page to change your mind. Switch to Reject and we stop Google Analytics and delete its cookies from this site. You can also clear cookies in your browser's settings whenever you like.
Hosting
Our hosting provider processes basic technical information, such as your IP address and browser type, so that it can deliver pages to you and keep the service secure. We don't use it to identify or track you.
Advertising
This site shows no adverts today. If that changes, we will update this page and the cookies page first and ask for your consent where the law requires it.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, including under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 and UK and EU data protection law, you may have the right to ask what information is held about you and to have it deleted. As we collect nothing directly, Google Analytics data is the only information that could relate to you, and rejecting or clearing cookies stops it.
Changes
We'll update this page when anything changes, and show the date at the top.
