Get comparable quotes

Comparing only the advertised fee can miss the cost included in an exchange rate. Request quotes for the same sending amount, source currency, destination currency and payment method. A card-funded payment and a bank-funded payment may have different charges.

Write down when each quote was issued and when it expires. If the rate changes before payment, the estimate you saved may no longer apply. Keep a copy of the quoted net receipt so you can reconcile it with the eventual payment.

Separate price from delivery

A larger estimated receipt does not tell you whether a service meets your deadline. Check whether the stated arrival time is guaranteed or indicative, whether the recipient needs a particular account, and whether verification can delay payment. Ask what happens if a transfer is cancelled or returned.

  • Net receiving amount after charges already included in the quote
  • Sender's total cost if fees are added on top
  • Additional receiving-bank or intermediary-bank charges
  • Expiry time, arrival estimate and cancellation terms
  • Correct legal entity and official complaints route

Reconcile before deciding

Our fee-aware converter subtracts a percentage of the converted amount and then a fixed fee in the receiving currency. If a quote instead deducts a fixed fee from the sending amount, first enter the amount remaining for conversion. If the fee is paid separately, compare that extra sender cost alongside the receiving result.

Do not enter account numbers, identity documents or payment details into an enquiry here. LagosXchange only helps you understand and compare figures. It does not transfer money, verify a provider's suitability for you or guarantee a quote.
